The Marshall Tucker Band talks 2015 NYCB Theatre at Westbury show (Includes interview)

They will be performing in the round at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury on September 19, along with Grammy-winning musician Charlie Daniels and his band. “This show means a lot to us, because we are with Charlie again,” Gray said. “We were just with him the other day, and we all had a chance to sit around and talk and reminisce a little bit. We are continuously reminiscing. We lost a lot of friends over the last 45 years. Whenever the time is right, we all get up and play together. Those are important things.”

An iconic Marshall Tucker Band front-man, Gray revealed that they will be performing songs from Searchin’ for A Rainbow, as well as a few surprises in their set. “We are definitely going to do ‘Searchin’ for a Rainbow’,” he said. “There is a specialty song where I will walk out there and I start singing the song by myself and everybody else chimes in the end.”

This past March, they played The Paramount in Huntington on Long Island, which he described as an “over-the-top” show. “It was good, and exciting for all of us before,” he said. “It was one of those shows that the crowd just loved and we got four or five standing ovations, and you get standing ovations whenever everybody knows that you put your heart into it.”
