Country group The Band Perry has a major reason to celebrate. They earned a 2015 Grammy nomination for their rendition of "Gentle on My Mind."
Their vocal of the classic Glen Campbell tune is up for "Best Country Duo/Group Performance." It is their current radio single and it is featured on the soundtrack of the upcoming Glen Campbell documentary. The song is already in the Top 30 on the Billboard Hot Country Airplay charts, and climbing.
The shared their excitement for their Grammy nod in a press statement. "We were so excited to hear about our Grammy nomination, but to receive one for a song we feel so passionately about is thrilling beyond words," the band said.
They went on to praise the iconic Glen Campbell as one of their greatest musical influences and they subsequently noted that they feel privileged to record his historic tune, in an effort to raise awareness for Alzheimer's in his honor.
The Band Perry has always been known for their energetic and vivacious live shows. They were able to rock out New York's Madison Square Garden this past August, where they opened for Blake Shelton, as Digital Journal reported.
