His infectious song "Mia" was recognized at the Hollywood Music in Media awards. It won "Best Country Song of the Year" in 2013, and it marked his second nomination. He was the first non-American to win that honor. Ever since his Hollywood Music award win, Andersson traveled to Nashville, Tennessee, where he recorded the single and subsequently released it independently to the radio airwaves. "That was unexpected and amazing," he said.
Regarding his new single "Mia," he said, "It's a story about a girl. We met and she was dating some other guy at the time, so we just talked. Someday, they broke up and we started dating, and we did so for a couple of months. Then for some reason, it faded away. It was one of those things where you ask yourself: 'why did that happen?" and you don't really know. We had wonderful times when we were together. I wrote that song just by the end of the whole thing."
He revealed that on Monday, he will be recording three new songs at Starstruck Studios, in Nashville, Tennessee. "Obviously, it is all exciting to me, and we feel that they are all single material," he said.
Andersson was inspired musically by such modern country artists as Brad Paisley and Keith Urban.
