By Markos Papadatos     May 26, 2014 in Music
Washington - Chart-topping country star Kristian Bush (best-known from the duo Sugarland) is performing his new song "Story of a Soldier" at the 10th annual National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C.
His fans can download the song starting today until June 2, by clicking here, in exchange for a pay-what-you-wish donation.
All of the funds raised from this new tune "Story of a Soldier" will benefit the American Veterans Center, a charity that is dedicated to guarding the legacies and honoring the sacrifices made by American veterans.
"Story of a Soldier" was penned solely by Bush and it was inspired by his family, especially since his father was an officer in the Army and his grandfather served in World War II.

"I know what it is like to look up to a soldier. I know why we applaud on a plane when a soldier comes home, and what those ribbons really mean on the back of those cars. To the members of the U.S. Armed Services, past and present, thank each of you for what you do and for keeping my home and family safe and sound and free. God bless you. I wrote this song for you," Bush remarked in a press statement.
As previously reported in my interview with Kristian Bush, he is out touring as part of his "Put Your Soul In It" tour, where he is backed by a five-piece band. He is working with longtime producer Byron Gallimore on his first solo album, which will be released on Streamsound Records. Its lead single is expected to be out on the airwaves this summer.
