Singer-songwriter Steve Grand chatted with Digital Journal about his recent show at Gramercy Theatre, his new video for "Look Away," and his plans for 2016.
He collaborated with fellow musician Eli Lieb on the song "Look Away," and they filmed a moving music video. "Actually, I just tweeted at Eli, and I told him that I was going to Los Angeles and I wanted to write a song with him. I came over to his house, and we worked on different ideas and melodies and we wrote the song. We finished it in an hour and a half, and I recorded it that evening in the studio," Grand said.
Grand headlined a show at New York's Gramercy Theatre this past February. "That show went great. It was wonderful and I just remember going out there and seeing all these people that came to see me, which was a cool feeling. I got to play a real acoustic piano, which is always nice. My voice was really, really strong, and it felt really awesome," he said.
An Illinois native, Grand is working on the next batch of music that he is going to release. "I do have a plan in place in my mind, but I think that people would probably just be more surprised," he said.
