Singer-songwriter Jason Reeves talks new duo High Dive Heart (Includes interview)

Aside from his solo project, he is heavily involved with his duo, High Dive Heart, where he collaborates with Nelly Joy. “We have been making music for the past 2.5 years and we have a whole mountain of songs stacked up. We released our first new single and music video just last week. We are starting to unroll the songs and we are just getting infinite content ready for the near future, and we are extremely excited about it. That is what I am really focused on right now,” he said.

As a songwriter, he is known for his collaborations with Colbie Caillat, and they co-penned such hit singles as “Bubbly,” “Realize and “I Never Told You.” “I love Colbie. She is an incredible singer and an amazing person as well. Working with her has been magical forever. I am incredibly grateful for her,” he said.

Reeves revealed that his greatest musical influences include Bob Dylan and James Taylor. “I discovered the whole 60s movement and Pink Floyd and Joni Mitchell. A lot of bands from that era are the reason why I do this. I am just still inspired by what they were doing then. There is something about that decade that hasn’t been replicated since,” he said.

On his future plans, he said, “It is all focused on High Dive Heart. We are putting out an EP that will be released soon. We are about to shoot a couple of music videos in the next month or two. It is really all about this project, since it has been a long time in the making. Our friend Nathan Chapman made us realize that we weren’t only two musicians, and we are grateful for him, since he is an absolute genius.”
