By Markos Papadatos     Dec 8, 2014 in Music
Country singer Ricky Young chatted with Digital Journal about his upcoming show for Nash FM's Holiday Bash in New York City on December 9.
He will be sharing the stage with country singer-songwriter Kristian Bush (best known from the award-winning country duo Sugarland), as well as country star Rodney Atkins and country group Parmalee. "I am very humbled. You look at all the people that are on there, and then you ask yourself, how did that happen?" he said with a laugh.
He added, "It is really cool to share the stage with them. I played a few shows with Parmalee before, but I met the other guys before. We are the first ones going on. It will be fun to hang and do a Christmas bash with them."

He had nothing but praise for country star Lee Brice and noted that they grew up together and they put a song together on Young's first record. "Lee is a good guy, no doubt at that," he said.
Young has been touring over the last three years, and he hopes to release another song on SiriusXM. "A lot of new artists get their first radio experience on SiriusXM," he said. "There is no slowing down now."
He is fond of the country genre of music due to its sincere storytelling. "Whether you are telling a fun story, we want to express that in a song," he said.
Young listed country mega-star Garth Brooks and Darius Rucker as two of his greatest musical influences in life. He stays connected with his fans via his social networks, Facebook and Twitter.
