Antigone Rising served as their opening act, and they were able to warm up the stage for Thompson Square.
They opened their set with “Trans Am,” where they were able to show their fans their country-rock side, as the stage was graced in white and red lights. “New York. How are we doing? It’s so good to be here with you guys,” Keifer said.
It was followed by the uptempo “Here’s To Being Here,” which was infectious and fun. “We got any singers in the house tonight?” Keifer asked, while Shawna went on to give a shout-out to their Huntington crowd.
After singing a few verses from covering John Mellencamp’s “Hurts So Good,” they continued with this journalist’s favorite song of theirs, “Everything I Shouldn’t Be Thinking About,” which was sheer vocal perfection.
Equally impressive was the inclusion of their brand new single “”You Make It Look So Good” in their set, as well as their chart-topping single “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not” and the tender ballad “Glass,” which featured Shawna’s gorgeous vocals.
The Verdict
Overall, Thompson Square were able to deliver at The Paramount on Long Island. They were able to get the country party started, as they sang their older hits and as they debuted new material. They are one of Nashville’s finest vocal duos. Their live show garnered 4.5 out of 5 stars.
