Review: The Swon Brothers rock Mulcahy’s Pub and Concert Hall in New York (Includes first-hand account)

Local musician Phil Smith served as their opening act, and he did an excellent job opening for the country duo, as he performed some exceptional country covers of songs by Darius Rucker, Keith Urban and David Nail.

Their set included their smash hit “Later On” and the mellifluous “Pray For You,” as well as material from their latest EP, the critically-acclaimed Timeless.

From their newer material, the crowd gravitated towards “Just Another Girl,” the ballad “Nobody” and “Throwback.” They even threw in a cover of Jason Derulo’s “Want To Want Me,” which was a neat treat.
