Review: The EC Twins electrifying at Marquee Nightclub in New York (Includes first-hand account)

EC Twins is comprised of brothers Allister and Marc Sean Blackham. They began their set promptly at 1 a.m. “New York City. We are the EC Twins. Make some noise,” they said, greeting the Marquee New York audience, and the venue went crazy.

They went on to encourage their fans to put their hands up in the air as red laser lights dimmed on the stage, and a neat solar system background graced the giant televised screen.

The EC Twins videotaped their fans’ reactions on their phones, as they debuted new material, and revitalized a few classics with their own twists. Their remix of Calvin Harris and Disciples’ “How Deep Is Your Love” was soothing and one of the highlights of their set was their superb remix of Snow Patrol’s “Chasing Cars,” thus bringing a feeling of nostalgia in the venue. The latter resonated extremely well with the fans, as they were reciting the lyrics verbatim.

Allister whistled and asked everybody to put their hands up in the air from the front to the back of the venue. It was followed by a noteworthy remix of Adele’s “Hello,” as the twins stood up on their DJ booths.

After they had the fans jumping, they continued playing more songs with a retro vibe to them, a few reggae tunes, as well as their new hit “Behemoth.” They paid homage to Tove Lo and Alesso with a killer remix of “Heroes (we could be),” as purple and red lights decorated the stage. Equally impressive was their remix of Fetty Wap and Drake’s “My Way.”

The Verdict

Overall, The EC Twins were phenomenal at Marquee New York. They had the Big Apple crowd with them every step of the way. It is evident that they were born to entertain. Their live DJ set at Marquee New York was upbeat and high-energy. It garnered an A+ rating. They are highly recommended seeing live whenever they are in town.
