article imageReview: The Band Perry amazes at Pennysaver Amphitheater in New York Special

Farmingville - Reigning Academy of Country Music (ACM) "Top Vocal Group" winner, The Band Perry, played a headlining show on July 11 at the Pennysaver Amphitheater in Farmingville, New York.
They shared the stage with such rising country artists as Maggie Rose and Austin Webb.
The country trio of siblings opened their set with their spitfire, break-up anthem "DONE," and they followed it up with "Night Gone Wasted" from their latest studio album Pioneer.
"You Lie" was another spitfire vocal and the chart-topping single "All Your Life" was more subtle and it displayed the band's wide range.
"I'm a Keeper" showcased their sassy side, and "Forever Mine Nevermind" was the song that they co-wrote with country mega-star Brad Paisley.
They took their fans on a trip down memory lane by playing their debut single "Hip to My Heart," prior to singing the gorgeous tune "Postcard from Paris."
Just when you thought that it could not get better than "Postcard from Paris," they prove their fans wrong, by delivering a stellar rendition of their latest album's title track, "Pioneer," which deserves to be a future radio single.
Their latest Top 10 single "Chainsaw" had a neat and sassy groove to it, and they did a noteworthy cover of Queen's "Fat Bottomed Girls," prior to closing with the mellifluous ballad "Don't Let Me Be Lonely."
For their encore, they returned to sing their signature song and most successful single to date, "If I Die Young" and they closed with one of my favorite songs on their catalog, "Better Dig Two," their lead single from their Pioneer album.
The Band Perry consists of Kimberly Perry, as well as her brothers, Neil and Reid.
The Verdict
Overall, The Band Perry delivered at their headlining concert in Long Island. The fans were really into their music, and they proved that their recent win for ACM'S "Top Vocal Group" was indeed merited, after a fantastic live performance. They are certainly one of the most gifted live entertainers in the country genre: they write the majority of their songs, play their own instruments and nail the vocals and provide strong harmonies. What more could country fans ask for. Their Long Island show garnered 5 out of 5 stars.
