Review: Sister Hazel soars on new country single ‘That Kind of Beautiful’ (Includes first-hand account)

“That Kind of Beautiful” was co-penned by such distinguished songwriters as Hillary Lindsey, Gordie Sampson and Luke Laird. Their vocals are strong, and their harmonies and counter-melodies blend well together, in this refreshing tune. It is infectious and custom-made for the country radio airwaves such as New York’s hit radio station, NASH FM 94.7.

On February 18, Sister Hazel will be performing live at Gramercy Theatre in New York City, where they will be supporting their new album, Lighter in the Dark.

Most impressive about Sister Hazel is that their band’s lineup has stayed consistent for well over two decades, which is a rare feature in the music industry.

The Verdict

Overall, Sister Hazel is delightful on their debut country single “That Kind of Beautiful” from their latest studio effort. It showcases a different side to their artistry and their potential to make it big in the country music scene. If this song is any indication of how their upcoming album will sound like, then Sister Hazel fans are in for a true musical experience. Their new single garners an “A” rating.
