Review: Sick of Sarah back with stellar rock single ‘Rooftops’ (Includes first-hand account)

Front-woman Abisha Uhl on lead vocals is an eighth world wonder. Her vocals are soothing, crystalline yet spitfire at the same time. Uhl and the rest of the girls (Jessica Forsythe, Jessie Farmer and Katie Murphy) truly know how to rock, and they are such underrated musicians and instrumentalists. It has a neat echo effect, and its chorus is infectious. It is one of those songs that will fare well in the live setting. They are the pride of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Sick of Sarah is out on the road, as part of their “Place Your Bets” tour, in an effort to promote their forthcoming new EP, which will be independently released on June 30.

The Verdict

Overall, Sick of Sarah’s hypnotic “Rooftops” single garners 4.5 out of 5 stars. It is a breath of fresh air. If this track is any indication of how their new album Anthem is going to sound like, then rock music fans and listeners are in for a real treat. Abisha Uhl knocks this song out of the park, proving that she is the heir to Joan Jett as the next great female rock vocalist and rhythm guitarist.
