Review: Ray Price’s ‘No More Songs to Sing’ is a timeless recording (Includes first-hand account)

It is a track from the late country star’s finals studio album, Beauty Is…The Final Sessions, which was produced by iconic producer Fred Foster. His album earned a rave review from Digital Journal, and rightfully so.

This is the fifth single from his final studio effort, and it is ideal to pay homage to Price and his musical legacy, especially since December 16 marks the two-year anniversary of his death. It was written by such songwriters as Robert Ellis Orrall, Roger Springer, and Tony Ramey.

Based on this haunting recording, it is evident that even in his very last moments, Price’s voice was as strong and compelling as ever. He truly was the “Frank Sinatra” of country music. With “No More Songs to Sing,” he is able to paint a vivid picture in the minds of his listeners on this slow-moving ballad, and he sings with a great deal of emotion.

The Verdict

Overall, Ray Price’s “No More Songs to Sing” garners 5 out of 5 stars. It does not get any more real than Price. His storytelling ability was superb and it will certainly stand the test of time.
