New York - On August 12, rising country singer RaeLynn performed an intimate acoustic set at the Nash FM 94.7 studio in New York City.
She was joined by country duo Maddie and Tae. It was hosted by award-winning country radio personality Kelly Ford, who introduced RaeLynn as a 20-year-old country sensation and praised her debut single "God Made Girls" for being awesome.
RaeLynn commenced her set with "Careless," where she was backed by an acoustic guitar player. She told the audience the cool story behind her follow-up song "Kissing Frogs," which was inspired by her mother. The tune was fun and sassy, and she ended it with the clever line "ribbit," which was a real treat.
The young songstress continued with "Love Triangle," which she claimed as her personal favorite song that she has ever written, especially since it was inspired by her parents' divorce. Despite their divorce, she reassured her fans that she has an "amazing family" and an "amazing life." This song displayed her sweet twang, and she made an allusion to country queen Patsy Cline in its lyrics. This emotional tune displayed her crystalline vocals and it has potential to become a major hit for RaeLynn, if her label ever decides to release it as a single in the future.
She changed the pace of her set, with a song that she dubbed as "a heck of a lot happier," her breakthrough single "God Made Girls," which was indeed uplifting and an anthem of female empowerment. She really got into this song, as did the studio audience.
A Valory Music Company recording artist, RaeLynn shared the fact that she has had a fascination for unicorns and flower crowns from an early age.
She closed her five song mini-concert on another fun note, with her rendition of her best friend, pop star Meghan Trainor's hit single "All About That Bass," where she added her own country twist to the tune, which was witty and sassy.
The Verdict
Overall, RaeLynn put on a fantastic show for an intimate group of fans in New York. With RaeLynn what you see is what you get. Her personality was sweet and bubbly, while her vocals were fun, upbeat and diverse, proving that she is one of country's most promising new acts. Her show earned an A rating, and she is definitely recommended seeing live whenever she is in the area.
