Review: R5 refreshing on new single and music video for ‘All Night’ (Includes first-hand account)

Their song “All Night” is the opening track from their newest studio album, Sometime Last Night. It is the follow-up to their previous singles “Smile” and “Let’s Not Be Alone Tonight.”

The band members of R5 display their soaring harmonies, infectious instrumentals, coupled by Ross Lynch’s dynamic vocals on “All Night.” It was co-penned by Ross, Rocky and Ellington Ratliff from the group, as well as their production trio, which is known as Captain Cuts.

The video for “All Night” is a great deal of fun, since it was filmed in a club bathroom and it features cameos from such individuals as magician Collins Key, actors Alfonso Ribeiro and Michael Rosenbaum, as well as Allison Holker, who was Riker’s professional dancing partner on the reality dancing competition, Dancing with the Stars. This weekend, they opened with this song when they performed at The Paramount in Huntington, and it was met with a roaring response from the audience.

The Verdict

R5’s music video for “All Night” garners an A rating. It is well-filmed and it helps bring the uplifting song to life.
