article imageReview: R5 delights on new radio single 'Smile' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Nov 27, 2014 in Music
Pop-rock group R5 has released their newest radio single, "Smile" and it is a fun, laid-back and mellow track, with an infectious chorus.
The band, which is signed to Hollywood Records, will be performing live tomorrow at The Space at Westbury in Long Island, New York, along with their younger brother, DJ Ryland and opening act singer-songwriter Jessarae, as Digital Journal reported.
"Today I feel like blowing all my cash on you, I’d buy you anything until I’m broke (broke broke)," they sing.
Their song's monochromatic music video was filmed at Teatro Opera in Buenos Aires, and it includes archive footage of the band. They just performed the tune at pre-show of the American Music Awards, and it was well-received by the public. It has a Bruno Mars ("The Lazy Song") meets Maroon5 vibe to it.

The Verdict
Overall, R5's latest single "Smile" is worth more than just a passing glance. It garners 4 out of 5 stars. They are certainly one of pop music's most underrated acts.
