article imageReview: Phillip Phillips films stunning new video for 'Raging Fire' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Apr 21, 2014 in Music
Former American Idol winner and singer-songwriter Phillip Phillips is back with his music video for his latest radio single "Raging Fire."
The former Idol champ co-penned the tune with such songwriters as Todd Clark, Derek Fuhrmann and Gregg Wattenberg.
His video for "Raging Fire" was filmed in the winter in Chicago, where it features him in various outdoor locations, giving his fans a glimpse of the outskirts of the area. Phillips is seen wearing the same clothing and strumming along to his acoustic guitar.
The climax of the video depicts him laying down and being painted into a "raging" fire by his friends and he is subsequently in the "heart" of that fire. It seems like a fun video to make for Phillips, although it may have been quite messy with all of that bright red paint on him.
It is a controlled vocal performance by Phillips and one can really tell the emotion he puts into this song, as he sings such lyrics as "Come out, come out, come out, 'Til we lose control into a raging fire."
The Verdict
Overall, the "Raging Fire" music video is one of Phillip Phillips' most compelling music videos to date. He is one of those artists that excels with every song that he releases to radio, while simultaneously staying true to himself. It garners an A rating.
