Just when you thought Olivia Somerlyn cannot get better than "Better With You," she proves her fans wrong with her new single "Parachute."
A pop music sensation, Somerlyn co-wrote the upbeat and fun tune with Nick Jonas from The Jonas Brothers, as well as Paul Phamous. Jonas also served as producer of the song.
It is extremely radio-friendly, consisting of a pulsating beat and it has a dance vibe to it, where the listener can recall young versions of such songstresses as Kylie Minogue and Christina Aguilera.
"Gravity keeps on pulling and pulling you back to me, I can't help wanting more of the way it feels
'Cause when it's good it's so good, But you're always changing the view," Somerlyn sings, in her hypnotic voice.
Throughout her career, Somerlyn has toured with Big Time Rush (on their South American tour) and she has shared the stage with The Jonas Brothers, Victoria Justice and Jessie J.
The Verdict
Once you get Olivia Somerlyn's "Parachute" in your head, it is one of those songs that will be difficult to get out (similar to Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off." It is an anthem of empowerment. The song garners 4 out of 5 stars.
