article imageReview: Nick Tangorra Band impresses on cover of 'N Sync's 'Dirty Pop' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Aug 28, 2014 in Music
Farmingdale - The Nick Tangorra Band dusted off pop boy band 'N Sync's hit single "Dirty Pop" and made it their own, in an acoustic fashion.
On August 18, they played a well-received show at The Paramount in Huntington, New York, where they opened for Warner Bros. recording artist and rapper Jake Miller.
Nick's music video for "Dirty Pop" was filmed in black and white, which makes it more nostalgic. He is backed by two acoustic guitars played by bandmates Will Ahrens and his brother and musical director, Rafe Tangorra, whom are also featured on its backing vocals. Nick's vocals are almost identical to Timberlake's, from the time that he was in his boy band days. The beat-boxing that they do is an interesting twist to the song, but it works for them.
The Verdict
Overall, Nick Tangorra Band delivers on their latest pop cover. They would have made Justin Timberlake and his former 'N Sync band-mates proud, by their refreshing rendition of their smash hit "Dirty Pop." Better yet, Tangorra is introducing the song to a brand new generation of fans who may be unfamiliar with 'N Sync's music. They deserve two thumbs up.
They will be playing on September 14 and Dave & Buster's in Farmingdale, New York in celebration of Nick's upcoming 17th birthday party. To learn more about that show, or to obtain tickets, click here.
