Review: New Kids on the Block’s Danny Wood charms on ‘Look at Me’ album (Includes first-hand account)

It opens with the piano-driven ballad “Look at Me,” which instantly lures the listeners in this new project, due to its tender and heartfelt message, coupled with its conversational lyrics. It is followed by yet another melancholic ballad Is “This Real?” and “Endlessly (Betty’s Wish)” is a poignant tribute to his late mother. It continues with “One Kiss” and the bittersweet “Promises.”

“If Only” is soft and more mid-tempo than the previous tracks. It is followed by “I Need You,” which is filled with positivity, and the ballad “Waiting on I Love You,” where his voice is smooth as silk. Other noteworthy tracks are “Dance for Me,” “The Silence” and the vibrant “My Sunshine.”

“Crazy” is an acoustic guitar-driven masterpiece. He picks up the pace with “The First Time,” and it closes with “Hold On” and “Shine.”

The Verdict

Overall, Danny Wood pours his heart out on this album, and many fans and listeners (and anybody who has ever lost a loved one) are able to relate. He is not afraid to showcase his vulnerability as a recording artist. It is safe to say that his mother is smiling in heaven. Look at Me garners an A rating.
