article imageReview: Michelle Wright's 'A Wright Christmas' is a holiday gem Special

By Markos Papadatos     Nov 4, 2014 in Music
Canadian country music star Michelle Wright's "A Wright Christmas" is still a Christmas classic album and perfect for the holiday season.
It opens with the gorgeous, piano-driven ballad "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and she changes the pace with the uptempo and cheery "Jingle Bell Rock."
"Joy To The World" showcases her honey-rich alto voice, in a soothing vocal performance. She shows her fans how to have a good time on the fiddle-driven, yet upbeat "I Know Santa's Been Here," which was penned by award-winning singer-songwriter Patricia Conroy.
Her version of "Little Drummer Boy" is laid-back and mellow, yet it displays her crystalline vocals. Equally impressive is her smooth rendition of "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer."
"Christmas Song" shows her ability to nail the high notes effortlessly, while "Silent Night" is heavenly and a controlled vocal. "Go Tell It To The Mountain" is rocking and "O Come All Ye Faithful" is one of the best songs on the album.
Her CD closes with the hypnotic "White Christmas," where her fans and listeners are left yearning for more.
