By Markos Papadatos     Oct 4, 2014 in Music
Country music sensation Martina McBride can now add published book author to her elite resume of impressive accomplishments.
Her newest book, Around The Table: Recipes and Inspiration for Gatherings Throughout the Year, which will be released on October 7, via her publisher, William Morrow (an imprint of HarperCollins), is a stunning cookbook. She co-wrote this book with Katherine Cobbs.
She gives the reader interesting tips and ideas on how to plan parties for every occasion, with menu items and family recipes. One of my favorite parts of the book was seeing her party playlist (consisting of 10 songs by different artists) for each party's theme.
From start to finish, this 284 page book is exceptional in every way: it is well-written and organized with top-notch syntax. It is ideal for any party planner and for every member of the family, offering neat ideas on how they can get involved; moreover, it even offers a universal conversion chart and compelling photographs of McBride and her family, which adds to its appeal.
The Verdict
Overall, there are not enough adjectives to describe how great Martina McBride's first cookbook is. It allows the reader to see a different side of McBride: the family person, party planner and chef/cook. One needs to see it and read it for themselves, hence I am not giving too much away. The recipes in there are authentic, family-friendly and highly eclectic: she offers her recipes for a few international dishes that span in the Mediterranean (Italian and Greek,) as well as Latin cuisines. Her passion and love for cooking is evident in this project. It really gives the reader a front row seat into McBride's kitchen. She makes a tremendous hostess. I will certainly be trying many of McBride's recipes for parties and celebrations with my family. All Martina McBride fans ought to have at least a copy or two in their homes.Martina's book garners an A+.
