When the "Queen on Pop" presented Swift with the award for "Song of the Year" for "Shake It Off," Madonna dubbed her as her "favorite guitar player." Swift won a total of three awards, including the prestigious "Artist of the Year," where she bested such artists as Luke Bryan, Ariana Grande, Sam Smith and Iggy Azalea. Swift's chart-topping single "Begin Again" swept the "Best Lyrics" category.
