By Markos Papadatos     Aug 9, 2015 in Music
Country superstar Luke Bryan released his newest album, "Kill The Lights" on August 7, and it is a rocking collection of songs.
It begins with the spitfire tune "Kick The Dust Up" and it is followed by the soaring title track tune "Kill The Lights," which is just as rocking as the opening song. He changes the pace with his mellow ballad and latest radio single, "Strip It Down."
"Home Alone Tonight" is a well-crafted collaboration with country songstress Karen Fairchild from the group Little Big Town. It will fare well on the radio airwaves if it is ever released as a radio single. "Razor Blade" is yet another soft acoustic ballad, and "Fast" is a laid-back and refreshing track.
"Move" will certainly become Bryan's next party anthem due to its feel-good nature. "Just Over" is a stunning melody, that will help pacify his listeners.
Equally noteworthy is "Love It Gone" and the upbeat "Way Way Back," the latter of which has a dance vibe to it. The beautiful ballad "To The Moon And Back" contains vivid imagery and "Huntin', Fishin' And Lovin' Every Day" has a liberating feel to it. His album closes with yet another ballad, "Scarecrows."
The Verdict
Overall, Luke Bryan's newest album is very versatile and diverse. The ballads on this project are real gems, and he proves to be one well-rounded entertainer. It garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
