Review: Love and Theft tugs at the heart on ‘Whiskey on My Breath’ video (Includes first-hand account)

“Oh I know I’m going to heaven, but I can’t go with me like this, I need to pull myself together, before then,” Stephen Barker Liles of Love and Theft sings. “No and I ain’t afraid of dying, but what scares me to death is meeting Jesus with whiskey on my breath,” he continues, in the chorus.

Towards the end of the music video, one will need a Kleenex ready since it has a happy ending, where the father is reunited with the daughter.

The Verdict

Overall, Love and Theft triumphs on their soaring harmonies on this poignant tune. The vocal chemistry Eric Gunderson and Stephen have together is impeccable. Their music video for “Whiskey On My Breath” elevates it to a higher level. It garners 5 out of 5 stars.
