Review: Long Island sensation Lorena Cajes delights on new single ‘Numb’ (Includes first-hand account)

Her vocals are crystalline and polished on her acoustic ballad “Numb,” which should not be confused with the Linkin Park song of the same name. “Sometimes you don’t appreciate the things you have until they’re gone. You get everything you want, but still can’t figure out what’s wrong,” Cajes sings in the opening verse, thus luring her listener in to the song from the first line.

Cajes wrote the song herself, which adds to her appeal as a contemporary singer-songwriter. If her forthcoming studio album is anywhere near as impressive as this song, then her fans and listeners are in for a real treat.

The Verdict

Overall, Lorena Cajes showcases a great deal of talent on her new latest single “Numb.” It is worth more than just a passing glance. There are no gimmicks. Just a talented female artist with her acoustic guitar who is able to make a great impression with her warm vocals and her sincere storytelling ability. “Numb” garners 4 out of 5 stars.
