Review: Lit puts on high-energy rock show at The Paramount in New York (Includes first-hand account)

They opened their set with the rocking “Welcome To The Party,” and they shared that The Paramount is one of their favorite venues in the country, and it’s been a while since they last performed here.

Lit immediately broke into “Zip-Lock,” and they encouraged their fans to “sing it” midway through the song. “Wow, man,” lead singer A. Jay Popoff said, prior to nothing that tonight they would be performing some favorites and some new tunes.

They continued with “Back With You,” where they had the Long Island audience clapping along, and it was followed by “Miserable,” which resonated well with the rowdy fans, due to its infectious “yeah, yeah” hooks. Towards the end of the song, the Lit front-man went in the crowd and interacted well with them, while displaying his impressive energy level.

Popoff dedicated the following new tune to a loyal female fan who has been seeing the band since she was 10 years old, and ironically enough the woman is getting married soon. This new ballad featured acoustic guitars and shakers.

They closed their set with the upbeat “Four” and their signature song, “My Own Worst Enemy,” the latter of which was a true rock anthem, which everybody in the venue was singing at the top of their lungs.

The Verdict

Overall, Lit delivered a killer rock show at The Paramount in Huntington. It was nostalgic and rocking at the same time. Popoff had the crowd in the palm of his hands. Their set garnered two thumbs up.
