article imageReview: Lea Michele makes Idina Menzel proud with 'Let It Go' cover

By Markos Papadatos     Dec 24, 2014 in Music
Lea Michele from "Glee" has covered Idina Menzel's smash single "Let It Go" from the animated feature "Frozen" and she has done an amazing job on it.
Michele is known for playing Rachel Berry on the hit reality comedic series Glee. Ironically enough, Tony-winning actress Idina Menzel plays Michele's mother, Shelby, on the show, especially since they bear a striking resemblance in real life. Menzel was the voice of Elsa on the Disney motion picture Frozen and sang its Oscar-winning theme song "Let It Go." Menzel is starring on the Broadway musical production, If/Then.
In return, Michele has paid homage to Menzel, and it turns out that her hard work has paid off, since Menzel enjoyed her beautiful rendition. "@msleamichele Stunning. Xo miss you back," Menzel tweeted to Michele.
The two-hour premiere of the sixth and final season of Glee will take place on January 9.
The Verdict
Overall, Lea Michele does "Let It Go" more than justice. Her vocals are reminiscent of Demi Lovato meets Idina Menzel. She sings with such warmth and passion. Primetime television will never be the same after this final season of Glee is over. Fortunately, their songs will always live on in cyberspace.
