article imageReview: Joey + Rory divine on 'If I Needed You,' should win Grammy award Special

By Markos Papadatos     Dec 24, 2015 in Music
Country music duo Joey + Rory garnered a well-deserved Grammy nomination for their moving collaboration, "If I Needed You."
They have been nominated for "Best Country Duo/Group Performance," and they are in the running along with Brothers Osborne's "Stay a Little Longer," Charles Kelley, Dierks Bentley and Eric Paslay's "The Driver," Little Big Town's "Girl Crush" and Blake Shelton and Ashley Monroe's "Lonely Tonight."
"If you needed me, I would come to you, I would swim the seas, For to ease your pain," Joey sings.
Most impressive about this song's music video is that it chronicles their baby girl, Indiana's birth, which makes it very relatable for their fans and listeners.
While the song may have not received any radio airplay or press, it goes to show how powerful country music can be, and how inspirational Joey + Rory and their family stories can touch people's hearts.
Joey's voice is so soothing and calming, it is almost like the perfect lullaby, and Rory triumphs on the harmonies. One needs to have a Kleenex handy each time they listen to this poignant tune.
The Verdict
Overall, Joey + Rory's "If I Needed You" earns 5 out of 5 stars. They showcase their true love and appreciation for country music. This is a song that cries for a Grammy win, and if there is any justice in the world, it should and will happen.
