article imageReview: Joe Bachman impresses on new single and video for 'Lookatchu'

By Markos Papadatos     Mar 26, 2014 in Music
Country singer Joe Bachman is back with his brand new single and music video for "Lookatchu." The video premiered on Taste of Country's website on March 25.
Bachman is signed to the record label, Rock Ridge Music, and the music video was filmed in Nashville, Tennessee. He collaborated with director Tyler Evans of Revolution Pictures.
The video takes place in a precinct line-up where every guy has his own style of girl, which could either be a tough biker chick or a businesswoman, among other choices. It is quite witty and a great deal of fun. The video's concept makes the viewer recall country songwriter Matraca Berg's "Back In The Saddle."
The song in itself is catchy and humorous. What I love about this video is that it showcases a different side to Bachman's artistry and craft. His previous single "A Soldier's Memoir" tugged at the heartstrings due to its emotional and moving message.
Bachman is out on the road touring radio stations nationwide in support of his single "Lookatchu" and he is simultaneously working on his forthcoming studio album.
The Verdict
Overall, Joe Bachman is a highly underrated country music artist. His style is very similar to Lee Brice since he can tackle emotional songs ("I Drive Your Truck") and feel-good fun tunes ("Parking Lot Party") with equal ease. His music deserves more than just a passing glance. This single garners 4 out of 5 stars.
