article imageReview: Jessie James Decker honors troops this Memorial Day in new video Special

By Markos Papadatos     May 23, 2014 in Music
Singer-songwriter Jessie James Decker has released a special music video today for "Coming Home," the title cut of her new EP.
This video is in honor of Memorial Day and it is comprised of photos that were submitted by fans with their loved ones who are in the military. This is a cause that is dear to Jessie's heart especially since her stepfather is the 914th Airlift Wing Commander in the United States Air Force.
"I'm really proud of this song. I feel like it's really relatable for anyone who has to be away from their loved ones for long periods of time – in particular our military," Jessie remarked in a press statement. "Not only is my stepfather a hero because he is in our military, but he's a hero to our family. This Memorial Day, I am so proud to honor him and all of our service men and women."
Her newest EP Comin' Home is a celebration of her pop and country music influences and as Digital Journal previously reported, this six-track collection was well-received.
She is the wife of professional football wide receiver Eric Decker from the New York Jets and they have their own hit reality series Eric & Jessie: Game On.
Overall, the music video for "Coming Home" is extremely moving, to the point where one cannot see it without a box of Kleenex next to them. The fact that all of the photographs that were included in there were from real people (and not actors) makes it even more appealing to the viewer. The final photo in the video is one of Jessie with her stepfather Steve Parker at the 2005 Newnan High School Homecoming in Newnan, Georgia. She handles the song's moving subject matter with much delicacy and showcases her tender vocals. I salute you, Jessie James Decker, for a well-crafted music video. It garners an A rating.
