article imageReview: Jana Kramer delights at Patchogue Theater in Long Island Special

By Markos Papadatos     Oct 18, 2014 in Music
Country singer Jana Kramer played a concert at the Patchogue Theater for the Performing Arts in Patchogue, New York, for "My Country" 96.1 FM.
She opened for country duo Thompson Square and she shared the stage with rising country boy band Chasin' Crazy.
Dressed in black, Kramer waltzed onto the Patchogue Theater for the Performing Arts stage. Her set included the upbeat "Good Time Comin' On" and continued with the fan-favorite tune, the melancholic ballad "Whiskey." Towards the end of the song, Kramer dubbed every guy in Long Island, New York, as her "whiskey."
Kramer announced that she has a new album that will be coming out soon and she performed the new tune "I Got The Boy," which she described as a love story with her high school sweetheart, Matthew. She sang "I Got The Boy" with a lot of emotion, as the stage was graced in purple lights. Following its warm reception, Kramer noted that she finally deleted him off Facebook and subsequently joked that she sent him this song.
A former One Tree Hill actress, Kramer gave a neat shout-out to opening act Chasin' Crazy and praised them as "the real deal."
She showed her Bridezilla side on the vindictive yet uptempo "I Hope It Rains," where her vocals were reminiscent of Natalie Maines from The Dixie Chicks. As fuchsia lights dimmed on the stage, she delivered her optimistic tune "Love."
Kramer changed the pace with her spitfire, upbeat song "Boomerang" and closed with her breakthrough single "Why Ya Wanna" and "Bullet," the latter of which she sang with a long of angst, emerging as the Alanis Morissette of country.
The Verdict
Overall, Jana Kramer was able to deliver at her radio show in Patchogue. It was a substantial indication that her forthcoming new music sounds promising. Her concert garnered 4 out of 5 stars.
