article imageReview: Jackie Lee impresses on debut country single 'She Does' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Sep 17, 2014 in Music
Broken Bow recording artist Jackie Lee has finally released his debut country single "She Does" to radio, and it is a smash hit.
The single, co-penned by Neil Thrasher and Kelley Lovelace, was the No. 1 most-added song on the radio airwaves with 40 first-week adds, which is an impressive feature for a country newcomer; moreover, "She Does" has become available on iTunes, by clicking here.
Lee is expected to make his debut on the hallowed Grand Ole Opry stage on September 30, where he will be sharing the bill with such artists as country group Rascal Flatts, Marty Stuart and fellow neo-traditionalist Easton Corbin.
Lee's vocals on "She Does" are rich, sultry and polished, where the listener can easily recall country singer-songwriters Will Hoge and James Otto. It features a neat electric guitar solo, midway through the song, and it builds up into a power-house vocal performance. The song deals with the compromises that the male narrator makes, in an effort to please his female lover. "Sometimes, I don't want to, but she does, so I do," he sings.
The Verdict
Overall, Jackie Lee delivers on his breakthrough single "She Does." It garners 4 out of 5 stars, and it displays his wide vocal range. I have been a fan of his ever since I first heard him sing a few years back and I am glad that he has finally released his first single to radio. It is a great introduction to his craft.
