article imageReview: Jackie Evancho dazzles on 'Think of Me' single from 'Awakening' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Sep 9, 2014 in Music
Musical prodigy Jackie Evancho has released her music video for the song "Think of Me," from her forthcoming studio album.
While only 14 years old, the song showcases her growth and maturity as a vocalist and performer. Evancho is best known as the runner-up winner from the reality competition, America's Got Talent.
Her rendition of the classical-crossover "Think of Me" from Phantom of the Opera is an absolutely delightful vocal performance, where the listener can easily recall Celtic Woman. Evancho's voice is one in a million. She displays her trademark range and her tone is crystalline and controlled. It is a polished and gorgeous vocal, and at times soothing and delicate. The final note that she belts out in the end proves that she is a true powerhouse vocalist. She exclusively premiered the song's music video on People's official website.
The Verdict
Jackie Evancho garners an A rating for her lead single "Think of Me." She pays a fitting homage to Phantom of the Opera. Her vocals are pure as the driven snow. If the rest of her upcoming third studio album Awakening is as good as this lead track, then the world is in for a real musical treat. She deserves to become the next Celine Dion or Martina McBride equivalent in the classical-crossover genre.
