article imageReview: Ingrid Michaelson back with catchy new single 'Girls Chase Boys' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Mar 23, 2014 in Music
Singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson released her lead single "Girls Chase Boys" from her upcoming studio album "Lights Out."
Her new CD will be out on April 15.
The song's music video, which has garnered well over one million views on YouTube, is reminiscent of Robert Palmer's classic video "Simply Irresistible," as well as country star Shania Twain's "Man! I Feel Like a Woman."
A native of Staten Island, New York, Michaelson's vocals on this tune are soothing, delicate and slightly reminiscent of Sara Bareilles. She sings with perfect pitch and she maintains a great deal of control over her voice. Once you hear it played on your favorite adult contemporary or pop radio stations, you instantly want to hear it repeatedly, and rightfully so. Her songwriting is clever and its melody is infectious.
The Verdict
Ingrid Michaelson's "Girls Chase Boys" deserves an "A" rating. She proves yet again that she is one of pop's most underrated female vocalists out there. This song should reach No. 1 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary charts. With the music video, she pays a great tribute to the late Robert Palmer.
