Singer-songwriter Hicks gives a soaring vocal performance on his new country-rock single "Mama's Kitchen." Digital Journal has the scoop.
His previous single "Hayride" was well-received by Digital Journal.
Miqael Persson, better known by his stage name Hicks, is an esteemed singer-songwriter from the south of Sweden. He hold multiple gold and platinum records to his credit. As a songwriter, his songs have been recorded by an array of artists that includes Jimi Jamison from Survivor, Giant (Dann Huff), Bobby Kimball (Toto) and Little River Band.
His latest single "Mama's Kitchen" was released in December via his independent record label, MTS Records. The tune was co-written by Miqael Persson and Erik Martensson. The song has already charted at No. 47 on the Country Internet chart, as well as No. 77 on the Country AM/FM chart, which is a neat feature, and it deserves to climb higher.
Hicks' rock-edged vocals on the upbeat single "Mama's Kitchen" are raspy yet rich. "Plenty of love in Mama's Kitchen, Ice cold beer and deep fried chicken, Southern food for body heart soul and mind," Hicks sings.
The Verdict
Overall, Hicks' "Mama's Kitchen" is a great deal of fun. It will give the listener a deeper appreciation of their own mother's kitchen, and it will give them a feeling of nostalgia. His song earns an A- rating.
