At first glance, the Long Island audience was shocked as to how tiny Caliendo looked when he took the stage, and he noted that he thought he was taller too, as opposed to “looking like something that popped out of Frank Caliendo.” He began his comedic routine by poking fun at Donald Trump, who is running for president.
He continued with his impersonations of former president George W. Bush, as well as Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, President Obama and Morgan Freeman. He shared that Obama speaks very slow in the beginning of his speeches and ends them very fast, that way, and impersonated him saying the popular phone number “867-5309” as Obama, which belongs to “Jenny.”
Most impressive about Caliendo is that he is able to blend all of his impersonations together and intertwine them in his stories.
Other people that he poked fun at during his comedy show were actors Robert Downey Jr. and Liam Neeson (and his Taken films), as well as fellow comedians Adam Sandler and Jay Leno (and his bobble-head). With Neeson in his serious roles in Taken, Caliendo underscored that even telemarketers would place themselves on the “Do Not Call” list.
He complimented The Paramount for being “a fun place to play live,” prior to closing with his impersonations of Academy Award winners Jack Nicholson and Robert DeNiro.
The Verdict
Overall, Frank Caliendo was able to deliver at The Paramount in Huntington. His comedic performance earned 4 out of 5 stars.
