Review: Ellie Goulding back with stellar single ‘Love Me Like You Do’ (Includes first-hand account)

“Love Me Like You Do” is sheer perfection. It is no wonder that it is featured on the soundtrack for the major motion picture, Fifty Shades of Grey. It was co-penned by such esteemed songwriters as Max Martin and Tove Lo, who is best known for “Habits (Stay High).”

It has an infectious hook, melody and it is extremely radio-friendly. It has elements of pop and electronic dance music. It is the quintessential tune to work out to in the gym.

“You’re the light, you’re the night, You’re the color of my blood, You’re the cure, you’re the pain, You’re the only thing I wanna touch,” Goulding sings.

The Verdict

Overall, Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do” is perhaps her greatest radio single to date. While her songs “Lights” and “Burn” were superb, this one is a true masterpiece. Her vocals are heavenly and captivating. It is safe to say that it elevates Fifty Shades of Grey to a higher level. It garners an A rating.
