article imageReview: Elizabeth Lyons brilliant on new 'I've Never' country EP Special

By Markos Papadatos     Feb 5, 2016 in Music
Country songstress Elizabeth Lyons is back with her refreshing sophomore EP "I've Never," which consists of six top-notch tracks.
Lyons' EP opens on an upbeat note with the youthful and liberating "General Admission," which is infectious and worthy of the repeat button on one's mp3 player. It is followed by yet another up-tempo and fun tune, "Girls Like Shoes, Bags, and Boys," which features a killer electric guitar solo.
She changes the pace of her EP with the title track country ballad "I've Never." Lyons pays homage to her musical influence Luke Bryan on a tune, which is appropriately titled "Luke Bryan." Equally heartfelt and nostalgic is "Made in the Midwest," and it closes with "Southern Gentlemen," the latter of which has a Carly Rae Jepsen vibe to it, which ought to be taken as a compliment.
The Verdict
Overall, Elizabeth Lyons is a breath of fresh air on her new EP. It is highly recommended for country fans and listeners of such female country-pop artists as Taylor Swift, Kelsea Ballerini and Danielle Bradbery. Lyons is a combination of them all. This EP garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
