By Markos Papadatos     Feb 14, 2015 in Music
Wantagh - On February 13, country star Easton Corbin played at Mulcahy's Pub and Concert Hall in Wantagh, New York, for a packed venue.
He began his set with the mid-tempo tune "Clockwork," as the stage was graced in laser lights. "Long Island. How are you guys doing tonight?" Corbin asked the crowd.
"Thank you so much for that one," he said, prior to strapping his acoustic guitar around him to sing the traditional country ballad "A lot to Learn." Corbin was able to get the country fans to wave their hands up in the air and he subsequently incorporated it as a crowd sing-along.
"I am so glad to be on Long Island," Corbin said. He nailed the ballad "It's About To Get Real," while showcasing his rich, baritone vocals, while "Lovin' You is Fun" was more upbeat, fun and a real crowd-pleaser.
"If you came here to see country music, you came to the right place," he said, prior to singing "The Way Love Looks." He then paid homage to the country veterans that he grew up listening to by performing a medley of their classic hits.

His ballad "Are You With Me" was country as grits, and it was followed by his chart-topping single, the up-tempo "Roll With It." "Dance Real Slow" is a soothing tune from his last studio album, with an infectious fiddle solo and a stunning melody.

Corbin sang the new tune "Wild Women and Whiskey," which deserves to become another radio single in the future. Equally noteworthy were "I Can't Love You Back" and his latest Top 25 single "Baby Be My Love Song," which has a traditional vibe to it, with modern lyrics.

The Verdict
Overall, Easton Corbin put on a captivating country music concert in the heart of Long Island. He sang with a lot of heart and vocally, he is the George Strait equivalent of this generation. His live shows are highly recommended whenever he is in the area. He is an artist that deserves to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry in the near future, since he epitomizes the best values that country music has to offer. His concert earns an A rating. Bravo Corbin.
