“Yup” features Corbin’s rich, baritone voice, which is reminiscent of fellow country star Joe Nichols, due to its neo-traditionalist vibe. It is a track on his latest studio album About To Get Real, and a unique mid-tempo love tune.
“You got a pretty girl looking at you there, giving you that what you gonna do stare, Saying, ‘look, gonna call it a night now,’ but you’re all wrapped up in the right now,” Corbin sings.
“Yup” was co-penned by Wade Kirby, Phil O’Donnell and Shane Minor, as well as produced by Carson Chamberlain. It is the follow-up to his hit single “Baby Be My Love Song,” which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot Country Airplay charts.
The Verdict
Overall, Easton Corbin’s new song “Yup” garners 4.5 out of 5 stars. It deserves to become his next chart-topping single. His voice is very distinct and impressive in the country genre, and he never disappoints.
