Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Darlene Love performed her holiday classic on "The Late Show with David Letterman" for the final time.
It is safe to say that Love left the audience breathless: they were in total awe of her tremendous pipes and superb vocal ability. This performance on Letterman's show has become an annual tradition for her and the show for well over two decades. 28 years to be exact.
Love was backed by a full orchestra, and she looked stunning in her elegant red dress. David Letterman's band leader and musical director Paul Shaffer accompanied her on piano. Her dynamic vocal performance went on to earn her a deserving standing ovation.
"Darlene Love, ladies and gentlemen," acclaimed TV host David Letterman exclaimed. "Thank you so much. It has been a great pleasure. God bless you, my dear."

The Verdict
Overall, the emotion, soul and power in Darlene Love's voice resonated well with the Late Show with David Letterman audience and the viewers that tuned in at home. It is evident that Love only gets better with age, proving that she has one of the most enduring voices out there. She is truly like fine wine, and one of rock and roll's greatest treasures. Her version of "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" earned 5 out of 5 stars.
