Review: Colton Dixon rocks The Theater at Madison Square Garden (Includes first-hand account)

Dixon opened for Christian music mega-star TobyMac, and he shared the stage with songstresses Britt Nicole and Hollyn.

“New York City,” Dixon exclaimed. “What’s up New York City?” as he took the stage, while opening with “Our Time Is Now,” as the stage was graced in red lights. Dixon continued with “Back to Life,” where purple lights dimmed on the stage, and his vocals were warm yet impressive and crisp.

He accompanied himself on piano on the ballad “More of You,” which really tugged at the heart, and equally mesmerizing was “Through All of It,” where everybody was reciting its moving lyrics verbatim.

“Thank you so much. Ya’ll having a good time?” he asked, prior to praising New York for being a “beautiful city.” He immediately broke into the haunting ballad “You Are,” as orange and red lights alternated on the stage.

Dixon encouraged his fans to get their hand up in the air as he sang his closing song “In and Out of Time,” which was well-received by his New York audience.
