Swindell shared the stage with such musical acts as Brantley Gilbert and Old Dominion, as part of Kenny Chesney’s “The Big Revival Tour.” He began his set with the upbeat and fun “Hey Y’all,” where he immersed the crowd in his set from the opening note.
He continued with the feel-good, party tune “Brought to You by Beer” and his chart-topping single “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight.”
“Chillin’ It” definitely resonated well with the New Jersey crowd. “Who is chillin’ it with us today?” Swindell asked, mid-way through his set. “Thank ya’ll so much. Feel that breeze baby,” he said, prior to noting that this was the song that got everything started for him.
The performance of his latest single “Let Me See Ya Girl” was infectious, proving that it deserves to be his No. 1 on country radio.
His break-up ballad “Ain’t Worth the Whiskey” was equally noteworthy, and mid-way through the song, Swindell, exclaimed, “Hell no, she ain’t.”
The Verdict
Overall, Cole Swindell did a solid job opening for country superstars Jason Aldean and Kenny Chesney at MetLife Stadium, and it is only a matter of time before he starts headlining his own arena shows. His live mini-concert garnered 4.5 out of 5 stars.
