Review: Christina Perri dazzles at JBL Live at Pier 97 in New York (Includes first-hand account)

Perri shared the stage with such songstresses as Colbie Caillat and rising artist Rachel Platten, who is best known for her hit single “Fight Song.”

Dressed in an elegant black dress, Perri began her set with the mid-tempo “Shot Me in the Heart” as she played the tambourine, and it was followed by “Arms,” where she was dancing on stage, as well as “Run,” “Distance,” and “Burning Gold,” which featured a vibrant background in the televised screen, and she had the crowd waving their hands up in the air.

“The Words” was a haunting ballad, with an orchestral arrangement to it, that showcased her wide range and ability to hit the high notes. “One Night” was yet another powerhouse vocal in her set. She closed with such tunes as “I Believe” and her empowering single “Human,” where she left fans wanting to hear more.

For her encore, Perri returned with her heartbreaking song “Jar of Hearts,” and her gorgeous piano-driven ballad “A Thousand Years,” which was the fan-favorite vocal of the evening.

The Verdict

Overall, Christina Perri put on yet another top-notch concert, where she allowed her ethereal vocals do all the talking. The amount of talent this woman has is tremendous, both as a singer, songwriter and performer, and everybody should see her perform live. They certainly won’t regret it. Her live show garnered an A rating.
