article imageReview: Chris Young captivates on new love ballad 'Who I Am With You' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Jun 1, 2014 in Music
Country singer Chris Young is back with his newest single "Who I Am With You," from his album "A.M." It is the follow-up to "Aw Naw."
The song was co-written by such songwriters as Marv Green, Paul Jenkins and Jason Sellers. It was produced by James Stroud. It has already reached the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot Country Airplay charts, after charting for 20 weeks.
A gorgeous love ballad, "Who I Am With You" is a quintessential wedding song. It has a subtle yet clear melody to it and it displays Young's rich, baritone voice. The acoustic guitar heard on it is a neat accompaniment and it is not overdone with heavy instrumentation.
In the song, the male narrator admits to being "lost" in life, however, he has found his better half, with the woman he is singing about. "You're so good for me, And when I'm holdin' you, it feels like I've got the world in my hands, Yeah, a better man is who I am with you," Young sings.
He subsequently adds that this woman makes his laugh and makes him high and inspires him to "hold on tight."
The Verdict
Overall, Chris Young continues to do a solid job with his latest radio single "Who I Am With You."
Not only is it one of the best songs from his new album, but it is one of my all-time favorites of his since "Voices." It garners an A rating and it deserves to become the next big country love song since "God Gave Me You" by Blake Shelton. This love song is No. 1 bound for sure.
