article imageReview: Chris Lane delivers on new video for 'Broken Windshield View' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Aug 27, 2014 in Music
Country singer Chris Lane has finally released his music video for his single "Broken Windshield View" and it was worth the wait.

Get More:

The video for his top-selling, breakout single "Broken Windshield View" premiered exclusively across CMT and all of its platforms today. It made the Top 10 on the iTunes Country Songs charts and it has sold over 43,000 downloads to date.
It was filmed in Lane's home-town of Kernersville, North Carolina, and it was directed by Robert Hales. Lane is in the studio working on his first EP with acclaimed producer Joey Moi for his label, Big Loud Mountain.
The video has that fun Florida Georgia Line vibe to it, and he nails the vocals, where the listener can recall such country artists as Dierks Bentley and Tyler Hubbard from the hit country duo Florida Georgia Line. He really takes his fans on a journey to his home-town, and it follows the story-line of the song quite well, with imagery of driving in his truck and seeing things from a broken windshield view. It is no wonder that Lane opened for them as part of their headlining "This Is How We Roll Summer Series 2014" tour, along with their musical guest, rapper Nelly.
Lane is seen hauling hay in the video, drinking beer with a group of friends, back-flipping into a lake, and towards the end, he showcases his inner country-rocker as he performs for a live crowd, dressed in his black leather jacket.
The Verdict
From start to finish, Chris Lane's video is well-done and it deserves to climb higher on the charts, since he is one of the genre's finest newcomers, hence he made Digital Journal's Top 10 male country singers to watch list.
