article imageReview: Chasin' Crazy does Eric Church justice on new 'Talladega' cover Special

By Markos Papadatos     Jan 17, 2015 in Music
Country music band Chasin' Crazy has covered Eric Church's latest single "Talladega" and they have done an outstanding job.
Four out of the five members are playing guitars on the tune, with Travis on drums. They all dressed up like Eric Church and they are sported his signature black shades.
Landon began the song with his rich, baritone voice, which is reminiscent of country star Josh Turner, and Jimmy James and Forest continued on counter-melodies, and the quintet soared on harmony vocals in the chorus.
Creigh sang lead on the following verse, as he strummed the acoustic guitar, and Jimmy James was delightful on raspy vocals. Their version truly channels the Eric Church original ballad recording. Chasin' Crazy has the tendency to take songs by other artists and make them their own.
The Verdict
Overall, Chasin' Crazy deserves to make it big in country music. They are a breath of fresh air to listen to, and 2015 should be their year in music. It is no wonder that they made Digital Journal's "Top 5 country acts to watch" list. Their version of "Talladega" garners an A rating. Well done boys.
