article imageReview: Chasin' Crazy delight on 'That's How We Do Summertime' single Special

By Markos Papadatos     Oct 13, 2014 in Music
Country band Chasin' Crazy released their breakthrough single "That's How We Do Summertime" and it is the quintessential summer anthem.
"That's How We Do Summertime" was co-penned by Thomas Matthew Karlas and Matthew Thomas Ramsey, and subsequently produced by Marti Frederiksen and Blake Chancey.
The band members' vocals are reminiscent of country star Chris Young ("Aw Naw") meets Rascal Flatts. The song has a liberating theme to it and their song's music video is laid-back and a great deal of fun. It shows the guys doing fun summer activities such as jet-skiing, playing baseball in a field, hanging with friends, as well as playing their musical instruments and dancing by a campfire. They sure know how to have a good time.
The harmonies and backing vocals in the song are quite infectious to the point where it feels like there are two songs in one. "That's how we do summertime, lay back in the sunshine, Not a single worry on my mind, A couple friends and feeling fine," they sing.
The Verdict
Their debut single, "That's How We Do Summertime," is a great introduction to Chasin' Crazy and their craft. They deserve to become the next big band in country. Their vocals are refreshing and custom-made for the radio airwaves. It garners 4 out of 5 stars.
